“Make Excuses about Network Marketing to Win, not to Lose”

Make Excuses about Network Marketing

We either make excuses about network marketing to quit, or we make excuses to stay. Excuse making is something many of us do who are in network marketing for a variety of reasons. We want to hold on to our fears or our excuses for failing instead of turning our life into positive action.

In order to understand why we make excuses about network marketing to win or lose, we need to understand what an excuse is.

There are three definitions for excuses:

  1. An attempt to lessen the blame
  2. Defending or justifying bad behavior or a fault or offense
  3. Justification for bucking the norm and trying something new or different

From these definitions, you get the sense that your excuses and justifications for failing in network marketing are nothing more than cover-ups for faulty actions.

Make Excuses about Network Marketing to Lose

Benjamin Franklin once wrote: “He that is good for making excuses is seldom good for anything else.

We make excuses about network marketing that put us in the position of failing for a variety of different reasons:

  • I don’t have the time
  • I don’t have the money
  • I don’t know how
  • I’m too old (or too young)
  • I’m not feeling well
  • I’m too tired or don’t have the energy
  • I’ll do it later
  • I’m happy with the way things are
  • I don’t need to change
  • I can’t do it (for whatever reason)
  • I don’t know what to do
  • I just can’t seem to get myself started

What’s most important about all excuses which justify us to fail in network marketing is they’re nothing more than excuses. Either you make excuses about network marketing to make money or you make excuses to fail. You can’t do both.

So, what is your excuse for failing in network marketing?

People who make excuses about network marketing that lead to failure are those who do not take RESPONSIBILITY for their actions.

For example, when you make an excuse not to work on their network marketing business because you don’t have the time, you’re not being truthful to yourself.

You’re not taking responsibility to the fact that most of your time is fruitlessly spent on nonsense and undervalued actions. You would rather take time to play a video game than do the hard work of network marketing. You would rather watch the boob-tube (“television” for the younger generation) than do prospecting. You basically make excuses to get out of things.

People who have become the top earners in network marketing, people who are the leaders are those who have taken RESPONSIBILITY for their actions and success. They’ve come to realize their failures and successes in life with everything from family to business is 100% their own responsibility.

An excuse to lose in network marketing is an excuse to cover up bad habits and faulty behavior.

For example, when a person says I failed in network marketing because “the products are too expensive and couldn’t sell them,” it never occurs to them that the top earners in their company sell products at the same prices. This excuse is a cover-up for their own desire not to be successful.

Flawed actions and the excuses that go with them hide your lack of progress and the goals you don’t meet.

So, we make excuses about network marketing by blaming our failures in it on someone or something else.

Make Excuses about Network Marketing to Win

Find an excuse to win in network marketing.

You can get your faulty excuses under control in network marketing only to the degree to which you discontinue lower-value, nonproductive actions and bad behavior.

Make excuses about network marketing to win by setting priorities in actions that lead to success.

A priority is something you do more of and sooner. You can only successfully win in network marketing by saying “no” to somethings and “yes” to other things.

You say “no” to playing video games and say “yes” to getting on the phone and calling your cold and warm market list.

You say “no” to going to a that favorite movie playing in the theater and say “yes” to spending that time you would’ve wasted at the theater on educating yourself to be successful in this industry.

You say “no” to all things that make excuses about network marketing to lose. You say “yes” to all things that make excuses about network marketing to win.

As Eric Worre says, “What’s bigger, your dreams or your excuses? Success only occurs when your dreams get bigger than your excuses.”

Here’s an assignment for you this week. Sit down and list all your excuses in order of importance. Once that is done, go through them one by one and ask yourself what can I replace them with to build my business.

You’ll probably have to rearrange your priorities, reschedule some events you committed to, and most of all change your life in every aspect by ridding yourself of excuses that lead to failure.
